R. Vasan is a visionary entrepreneur and industry veteran with a strong international background. He brings over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience across packaging, beverage and preform manufacturing, having visited more than 1,000 water and beverage plants worldwide.
A true trendsetter, he has consistently raised industry standards. He began his career in 1978 with one of India's leading nationalized banks, which laid the foundation for his business acumen. Since then, he has successfully led three companies as Managing Director — including a PC and PET jar manufacturing venture in 2003, packaged drinking water and preform manufacturing operations in 2007, and the acquisition of NEMO, an international packaged drinking water brand, in 2008.
His expertise spans PET, polycarbonate, preforms and closures — from raw granules to finished products. He is credited with manufacturing the world's first six-gallon bottle, earned recognition from top companies such as Pepsi, and pioneered some of India's earliest preforms and closures for carbonated drinks.
Today, through Bharath International, he has expanded into premium sports goods — notably high-end cricket bats and cricket balls — already reaching markets in Australia, the UK and Canada, with plans to enter non-cricket playing countries. The company remains open to new opportunities, backed by deep manufacturing knowledge and a global network built over decades.
